TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern purchases made from YB Jewellers and, where applicable, the use of our website and services.
YB Jewellers is the trading name of Young Brothers Jewellers Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13910410, with an address at Suite 51, 88–90 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8PN, United Kingdom.
References in these Terms & Conditions to “YB Jewellers”, “YB”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Young Brothers Jewellers Ltd T/A YB Jewellers.
References to “you” or “customer” mean the person purchasing goods from us or otherwise entering into a transaction with us.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. OUR PRODUCTS
YB Jewellers specialises in luxury watches, jewellery and related products.
Many watches and jewellery items sold by us are pre-owned. Pre-owned goods may therefore display signs of previous use consistent with their age and stated condition.
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and other information provided by us are accurate.
Product photographs form part of the description of an item. However, colours, finishes and appearance may vary slightly because of photography, lighting and the screen or device used to view the product.
Where an item is supplied with a box, papers, warranty card, spare links or other accessories, these will be specified in the product listing or otherwise agreed with you.
2. AUTHENTICITY
YB Jewellers is committed to selling authentic watches and jewellery.
Items are inspected before being offered for sale using the processes we consider appropriate for the particular item.
References to third-party manufacturers, trademarks and brand names are used solely to identify the relevant products. Unless expressly stated otherwise, YB Jewellers is an independent retailer and is not an authorised dealer, agent or representative of those brands.
3. CONDITION OF PRE-OWNED GOODS
The condition of pre-owned goods varies between individual items.
We aim to describe material aspects of an item's condition accurately and provide photographs showing the item being offered for sale.
Customers should review the product description and photographs before purchasing and contact us if they require further information.
Where we are aware that an item has undergone material servicing, repair, refinishing or component replacement relevant to its description, we will endeavour to provide appropriate information.
4. PRICES
Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£).
We take reasonable care to ensure prices are accurate. However, errors may occasionally occur.
If we discover an obvious pricing error before accepting an order, we may contact you to explain the error and give you the opportunity to purchase the item at the correct price or cancel the order.
Where an order is cancelled, any amount due to be refunded will be returned in accordance with applicable law.
5. ORDERS
Placing an order through our website constitutes an offer to purchase the relevant item.
An automated acknowledgement or order confirmation does not necessarily mean that we have accepted your order.
A contract will be formed when we accept your order or dispatch the goods, as applicable to the transaction.
All orders are subject to availability and any payment, identity or security checks we reasonably consider necessary.
6. AVAILABILITY
Many watches and jewellery pieces offered by YB Jewellers are unique or held in quantities of one.
An item appearing on our website does not guarantee that it remains available.
If an item becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, we will notify you and refund any payment due in relation to the unavailable item.
7. PAYMENT AND SECURITY
Payment must be made using a payment method accepted by YB Jewellers.
Because we deal in high-value goods, we may undertake reasonable identity, payment and fraud-prevention checks before accepting an order, releasing an item or dispatching goods.
We may request additional information reasonably required to verify a transaction.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel a transaction where we reasonably suspect fraud, an unauthorised payment, identity misuse or other unlawful activity.
8. DELIVERY
Available delivery methods will be displayed at checkout or otherwise agreed with you.
High-value deliveries may require a signature or other confirmation of receipt.
You are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate delivery address.
For security reasons, we may refuse or require additional verification before accepting a request to change the delivery address of a high-value order after payment.
Risk in goods passes in accordance with applicable law.
9. ONLINE CANCELLATION RIGHTS
If you are a consumer purchasing goods from YB Jewellers online or through another qualifying distance contract, you will generally have the legal right to cancel your purchase without giving a reason, subject to applicable exceptions.
For a typical single delivery of goods, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must make a clear statement informing YB Jewellers of your decision to cancel before the cancellation period expires.
Once you have informed us that you are cancelling, you must return the goods without undue delay and ordinarily no later than 14 days after notifying us of your cancellation.
Certain statutory exceptions apply, including in relation to some goods made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised.
10. CONDITION OF ONLINE RETURNS
We ask that returned watches and jewellery are kept in the condition in which they were supplied.
Where applicable, returned goods should include everything originally supplied with the item, including:
- Box and packaging
- Papers and certificates
- Warranty cards
- Tags
- Spare bracelet links
- Accessories
- Accompanying documentation
You may handle goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Where your handling goes beyond what is reasonably necessary and results in diminished value, YB Jewellers may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.
This may be relevant where, for example, a watch or item of jewellery has been worn beyond reasonable inspection, scratched, damaged, altered or otherwise returned in a materially different condition.
11. RETURNING AN ONLINE PURCHASE
Please contact YB Jewellers before returning a high-value item so that we can provide appropriate return instructions.
Returned goods should be securely packaged. Given the value of the products we sell, we strongly recommend using an appropriately insured and trackable delivery service.
Where the return results solely from your exercise of the statutory right to change your mind, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless YB Jewellers has agreed to bear that cost or the law requires otherwise.
This does not apply in the same way where goods are being returned because they are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
12. REFUNDS FOR ONLINE CANCELLATIONS
Where you validly exercise your statutory cancellation right, we will issue the refund required by applicable law.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you provide evidence that they have been returned, where permitted by law.
Refunds will ordinarily be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
Where applicable, we will refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery method. If you selected a more expensive delivery option, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our standard delivery option.
13. IN-STORE PURCHASES AND CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
The statutory cancellation rights that generally apply to qualifying online purchases do not generally provide an equivalent change-of-mind right for purchases made in our showroom.
However, YB Jewellers voluntarily offers a 14-day exchange or store-credit policy for eligible in-store purchases.
To qualify, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was sold and accompanied by everything originally supplied with it, including, where applicable, its box, papers, warranty cards, tags, spare links, accessories and documentation.
For an eligible change-of-mind in-store return, YB Jewellers does not offer a cash refund. Instead, an eligible customer may receive an exchange or store credit.
We may refuse a change-of-mind exchange or store credit where the item has been worn beyond reasonable inspection, damaged, altered, engraved, resized or otherwise materially changed from the condition in which it was supplied.
This voluntary policy does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
14. DEPOSITS AND RESERVATIONS
YB Jewellers may agree to reserve, secure or source an item for a customer in return for a deposit.
The deposit amount, outstanding balance and applicable payment deadline will be communicated to the customer at the time of the transaction.
Where a deposit has been taken specifically for YB Jewellers to source, secure or reserve an item at the customer's request, the deposit may be non-refundable if the customer subsequently decides not to proceed, subject to applicable consumer law and any cancellation rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a balance remains outstanding, it must be paid by the agreed deadline.
If the outstanding balance is not paid by the agreed deadline, YB Jewellers may cancel the reservation and make the item available for sale to another customer, subject to the terms agreed with the customer and applicable law.
Where YB Jewellers is unable to supply an item as agreed, the deposit will be dealt with in accordance with the circumstances of the agreement and the customer's applicable legal rights.
Any specific deposit or reservation terms agreed with you in writing at the time of the transaction will form part of your agreement with us.
15. YB JEWELLERS 12-MONTH WATCH WARRANTY
Unless otherwise stated at the time of sale, qualifying pre-owned watches sold by YB Jewellers are supplied with a 12-month YB Jewellers warranty.
This is a commercial warranty provided in addition to your statutory rights.
The warranty is intended to cover qualifying mechanical faults arising under normal use during the warranty period.
The YB Jewellers warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by circumstances including:
- Accidental damage
- Misuse, abuse or neglect
- Impact or shock damage
- Improper handling
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic wear or damage
- Damage to straps or bracelets resulting from use
- Loss or theft
- Unauthorised servicing, modification or repair
- Failure to operate or secure the watch correctly
- Water ingress caused by the crown, screw-down crown, pushers or other controls not being correctly secured
- Use beyond the watch's applicable water-resistance capabilities
- Corrosion, rust or movement damage resulting from excluded water ingress, misuse or accidental damage
For example, where a screw-down crown has not been correctly secured and water enters the watch, resulting in corrosion, rust or damage to the movement, that damage would not ordinarily be covered by the YB Jewellers commercial warranty.
A warranty claim may require the watch to be returned to YB Jewellers for inspection before we determine whether the fault is covered.
Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights.
16. FAULTY OR MISDESCRIBED GOODS
The rights described in our commercial warranty and change-of-mind policies are separate from your statutory rights.
Under applicable UK consumer law, goods supplied to consumers must meet statutory requirements, including requirements relating to satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and conformity with their description.
Consumers may have statutory remedies where goods do not conform to the contract, including, where applicable, rights to reject goods, repair or replacement, or a price reduction or refund.
The expiry of the YB Jewellers commercial warranty does not necessarily mean that all of your statutory rights have expired.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts a statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
17. BESPOKE, PERSONALISED AND ALTERED GOODS
Different cancellation rules may apply where goods are made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
The statutory distance-selling cancellation right does not generally apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.
This may include certain bespoke or custom-made jewellery.
This exception does not remove your statutory rights where goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
18. PART EXCHANGE
Where YB Jewellers agrees to accept an item as part exchange, the valuation offered may be subject to physical inspection, verification of authenticity, condition, ownership and any other checks reasonably required.
Any valuation provided before physical inspection may be provisional.
If an item materially differs from the description, photographs or information supplied to us, we may revise or withdraw the valuation before completing the transaction.
You confirm that you are the lawful owner of, or otherwise have the legal right to sell or transfer, any item provided to YB Jewellers as part exchange.
We may decline a part-exchange transaction where we cannot satisfactorily verify an item's authenticity, provenance, ownership or condition.
19. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, photographs, graphics, branding, written content and other original material appearing on the YB Jewellers website are owned by or licensed to YB Jewellers.
You may not reproduce, commercially exploit or distribute our content without permission except where permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks, logos and brand names remain the property of their respective owners.
20. WEBSITE USE
You must not misuse our website, knowingly introduce malicious software or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers, systems or data.
You must not use our website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect our website, customers or business.
21. LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those protections, YB Jewellers will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant contract was formed or losses for which we are not legally responsible.
Different provisions may apply where you purchase goods wholly or mainly for business purposes.
22. PRIVACY
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
Payment processors, delivery providers and fraud-prevention providers may process information where necessary to facilitate, verify or protect a transaction.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how we process personal information.
23. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Any updated version will be published on our website.
The terms applying to an individual purchase will generally be those applicable when the relevant contract is entered into, subject to mandatory legal requirements.
24. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions and contracts between you and YB Jewellers are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections applicable to you.
Nothing in this section removes any rights a consumer may have concerning jurisdiction under applicable law.
